Merchant Navy Welfare Board is a Registered welfare organization established in India. The MNWB is a council of Seafarers Welfare voluntary organizations, Indian Seafarers Welfare Organisation and also the PWCs of Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu which are officially registered organizations in India. The purpose of this board is to unite all seafarers welfare organizations, Maritime Stake Holders, Maritime Trade Unions and also to promote cooperation between organizations that provide welfare services to the Merchant Seafarers.
The Merchant Navy Welfare Board encourages PWCs, Seafarers Welfare Centers, Seafarers organizations, Maritime trade Unions to join as council members and also supports Seafarers welfare centers, clubs, Port welfare Committees for improvement of the seafarer’s welfare work with spirit of Maritime Labour Convention 2006.
Our free, 24-hour, helpline, Seafarer Help, is one of the direct welfare services we provide to seafarers. Others include our relief funds for seafarers and their family members in need and a range of health information resources.
We work with companies, unions, governments, welfare organisations and ports for the implementation of the ILO Maritime Labour Convention, 2006. We support those who establish and provide welfare facilities and services in port and on ships.

To Encourage local Maritime stake holders, Port Authorities, Seafarers organizations, ship owners’ organizations to form PWC and also to establish seafarer’s welfare centres in each and every port of India.
