The Merchant Navy Welfare Board (India) is grateful to the Hon’ble Minister Shri. Ramdas Athawale for his continued support for the betterment of seafaring community in India and the International seafaring Community has also expressed thankfulness for his continued support for establishing seafarer’s welfare centers successfully inside the dock areas of major and minor ports of India.

Mr. N. Reuben Paul is well known personality in International shipping fraternity. He played very key role in bringing International charities and Global welfare projects to India. He is founder of many local, National and International level seafarer’s welfare charity organizations such as Sea Mission, Maritime Charitable Trust, Merchant Navy Welfare Association, Centre for Seafarers Welfare, Seamen Welfare Organization, Indian Seafarers Welfare Organisation and Universal Christian Seafarers Welfare Association etc., He is the first member represented India in International Committee on Seafarers Welfare (Presently known as ISWAN, UK), He is the Founder of Sailors Society in India. He Joined Sailors Society, UK in the year 1999. Prior to joining Sailors Society, He was also associated with Canada based Light House Harbour Ministries on honorary basis.
He is working for seafarers’ rights and wages. He plays very important role as General Secretary of Port Welfare Committee of Andhra Pradesh, Hon. Chairman of Indian Seafarers Welfare Organisation, Vice-President of Centre for Seafarers and Maritime Workers Union and also key personality as AP State Head of FSUI which is affiliated to ITF, London.

Dr. Anthony Port Chaplain started his career in ministry of the seafarers in the year 1994 in the port of chennai doing all welfare activities to the seafarers. In 2004 as a special delegate for the WMCW in ILO for the 92nd session for the International Labour Conference, Geneva on the Migrant workers and seafaring sector brought many developmental activities in the south asian region. He brought out new ventures to the seafarers in the south asian region by conveying the international coordination on seafarers welfare meeting at chennai. in the month of November 2005. There were 141 delegates from the International maritime community around the world to implement the MLC 2006 in this region. He attended many world congresses of the Apostleship of the Sea in various parts of the world. He is well experienced in seafarers welfare activities in India and abroad. He is also Vice-Chairman for Sea Mission Organisation.

Capt. Jacob Satya Raju
Captain. Jacob Satya Raju is currently working as General Manager ot Kakinada Sea Ports Limited. He is also Vice Chairman of Port welfare committee of Andhra Pradesh.
Capt. Mohan Naik is the Director of Dynacom tankers Management company which manages over 120 ships which include Dry cargo vessels of all types, Oil tankers and LNG Carriers. He has shore based experience in the Maritime field of over 25 years, in various ascending capacities. Capt. Naik is also Director of FOSMA (Foreign Owners Representatives and Ship Managers Association). Capt Naik’s sailing experience of 18 years includes handling oil tankers as well as dry bulk carriers as a Master. Having worked on Indian and foreign owned ships, he has a rich experience of modern cargo management and people management.
Capt. Naik is a qualified Master Mariner and Extra Master. Considering the nature of the cargo business, Capt Naik developed his legal skills and is a LLB from the Mumbai University (First Class) and an LLM in Maritime law (Distinction) from the London Metropolitan University.
He has been a key speaker, panel member on various seminars on trends in the maritime industry. He is chairman of JNPT seafarers welfare centre run by the Mission to seafarers.
N. R. Babu is a certified ship welfare visitor. He has completed a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering and started his career as Mariner in Bnavi, Italy company vessels. He is presently working as Chairman of Republican Seafarers welfare organisation of India Headed by Hon’ble Minister Shri. Ramdas Athawale Hon’ble Minister for Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India. He is also working as vice President of CSMW Union affiliated CITU, India.
Harsh Buch is a dedicated and accomplished Maritime lawyer with extensive experience crew related issues. Mr. Buch is a regular speaker at various institutions and international conferences.
Dr. M Srinivas Rao is a famous Psychologist and vice-chairman of Maritime Charitable Trust. He is a professional counsellor and runs seafarers’ mental health programs.
