What We Do

We provide resources to the seafarer’s welfare organizations in India. We assist local Port welfare Committees and Seafarers associations to establish Seafarers Welfare Centers in all Indian Ports. Our specialized legal team run the seafarers help line to assist seafarers and their families who are in distress and facing problems onboard the vessels. We have smooth contacts with Authorities and organizations around the world to assist our seafarers.

We liaise with Governments, Port Authorities, Trade Unions, Ship owners’ associations, Seafarers Welfare organization for the improvement of Seafarers Welfare activities in India.

We have smooth contacts with National and International organizations, and we enter agreements with International bodies for the welfare of Indian Seafarers during their visit to foreign Ports especially at times of ship arrests, ship wreck, accidents at sea and at times where special assistance required in foreign ports.

Seafarers Help Line:

As a seafarer If you face any problem or difficulty onboard such as unpaid wages, work related problems, Contractual Issues, Over Time Payment Issues, Repatriation, Harassment, Bullying, abandonment, Onboard Accident, Insurance claims or any other issue, you can contact our Dedicated ship welfare officers or you can send an email to mnwbindia@gmail.com

We have strong contacts with authorities, National and International Organizations in India and Abroad. We also have list of strong Voluntary advocate team who can assist seafarers in their legal issues. Please do not feel hesitate to raise your complaint.

Maritime Training assistance:

One of the services the Board is to provides assistance in training courses to the seafarers. These courses are available to candidates from all our Constituent member organisations and where appropriate and space allows.

Mental Health Awareness among Seafarers:

We raise awareness of mental health among Seafarers by Increase understanding of common mental health problems and their causes. Explaining how mental health might be affected by working at sea. Make them aware signs and symptoms of mental health problems. Build confidence how to act and provide initial support whilst at sea.

Grievance Desk for Legal assistance to seafarers and their Family:

Our aim is to provide consistently high-quality advice on seafarers’ rights. We offer in-depth local knowledge and a uniquely global perspective.

Port Welfare Committees and Seafarers Welfare Centres:

We encourage and support the establishment of welfare boards in all Coastal states of India in accordance with the International Labour Organization Maritime Labour Convention, 2006.
